The GT's also get on the Hot list for the first time this season with a five game unbeaten streak.

Week 14 Intro :
This is the last Gazette of 2019 as we head into our two week break before the New Year. We had a bit of Monday Night Mayhem as the top three teams in the league played on Monday night and all of them lost this week. I don't think that's happened in a while. Perhaps with this being the first week of repeats there were some scores to settle. Anyway, we're a bit light on the usual write-ups, but we do have some news from the FHL All Star game, so we'll start things off with that.

FHL All Star Game:

Many thanks to everyone that joined in on the fun from 11:30AM – 12:30PM on Wednesday, 18DEC2019 at the DISC for the 2nd Annual FHL All Star game including Bill Ruch who took time off from his resident engineer job to officiate the game.
It was a great game that ended in a 6-5 Win for Team Bill Ford (coached by Reggie “Soap daddy” Dunlop) over the Team Henry Ford (coached by Richie “Paisan” Dalimonte).
Our Honorary Captain … former FHL President Tony “the Dooch” Carducci was in attendance for the ceremonial puck drop.

$300 was collected during this event from the players and coaches and given to “The Dooch” who is donating the money to the Cancer Research Foundation.
Great time, Great Cause and Great turnout … Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New year.

Goals scored by:
Team Bill Ford: Austin Mazur (2G), Chris Olszewski, Conner Cecott, Brett Mckenzie, and Alex Lince
Team Henry Ford: Dam Middleton (2G), Charlie Tyson, Mitchell Fink and Blake Smith

MVPs:
Team Bill Ford: Rogie Guacamole (Alex Contreraz) for 1.5 periods of shutdown goaltending for Team Bill Ford. Zero goals allowed. Stellar saves.
Team Henry Ford: Dan Middleton for a 2 goal performance, would’ve had the hat trick but Jeff Dare made an unbelievable “paddle” save on him to preserve the Team Bill Ford Win.

Week 14 in Review :
Marauders 3   Focus 2 :
Soper: Off the cold list.
Story of the night ... Mark DeGagne in for Kirch. Unbelievable net minding. Thanks Mark.
Pat Coliton and Ron Martina played stellar on D as well.
Thanks for subbing all three of you!!
Marads jump out to a 2 zip lead on goals by Conner and Pat C.
Kegs gets a shortie. 2-1 EOF.
No scoring in the 2nd.
Sharlow gets his own rebound and makes it 3-1.
Conti-nental makes it 3-2 with 2 minutes left. Rauds play a complete game on O and D and preserve the win.
DeGagne was the difference making great saves all night and garners POG honors.

Merry Christmas 🎄 to everyone and Happy NewYear!!
Be safe.

...
SuperChiefs 4   Broncos 3 :
Kluegel: From the hot list at 9-0-1 to the cold list with three losses in a row. I thought this game was pretty evenly played with the Super Chiefs doing a far better job capitalizing on their opportunities. 4-3 Super Chiefs, Final. Great job by Chris O for the Broncos, who scored 2 goals. Alex Lince added the other tally.

Next up, the Broncos get to play a make-up game on Friday, 12/20 against the Cobras...a game in which 50% of each team will probably be subs due to the horrible timing right before the holidays.

Vincent: Big game against one of the top teams in the FHL this season. Excellent back and forth game and the Chiefs squeak out a victory with big goals from Fink, Wypych and yours truly. With Sparks out, Joe Korepta subbed in and played a key role in our victory putting up a playmaker and playing great defense throughout. Thanks Joe! SuperChiefs go into the holiday break with a big W and are poised for a 2nd half surge. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of the FHL brotherhood and their families. See you in 2020!
Rangers 6   FordTough 5 :
...

Dalimonte: Ford Tough faces a heavily subbed Ranger team on Monday action.

The Tough were on a winning streak and witnessed the 2 top teams fall prior to their late game.

Tough open scoring by John Lubes as he slams a one timer home. 1-0 Tough. The Rangers strike back with 4 straight to take a 4-1 lead midway through the 2nd period. The Tough Leader scores his first goal of the year to cut lead 4-2. Lubes scores another for his 2nd of the game 4-3 Tough. Rangers get a power play goal to extend the lead back to 5-3. Tough pull goalie and Menard cuts lead to 5-4. Tough pull goalie and JC gets on the board to extend to 6-4. Danny Middleton and Brian Lucatch score 5 seconds later to cut lead 6-5. Tough pull goalie again and cannot get one past sub goalie Degagne

Marc plays great in sub effort along with the other great subs JC was able to secure and take down the Tough prior to the holidays.

Merry X Mas and Happy New Year to you all. Happy Hanukkah to my jewish brothers!

2nd Annual FHL Allstar game recap:

Today we celebrated our dear friend, mentor and Ford Hockey League Legend. Anthony Carducci! via the 2nd Annual FHL All Star Game between the Bill Fords and Henry Fords.

The Bill Fords pulled off a 6-5 Victory over the Henry Fords to even the series at 1-1. Bill Fords (Mazur-2; Brett M- 2; Cecott-1, Sharlow-1); Henrys (Middleton-2; Fink-1; Lucatch -1; Smith-1)

An amazing group of hockey brothers played their hearts out for "THE DOOCH"

MVP for the Bill Fords was Alex Contreraz as he shut out the Henrys for 1.5 periods!

MVP for the Henrys was Rookie Ford Tough player from MSU- Daniel Middleton!

God Bless you all and especially our brother Tony who is battling Pancreatic Cancer!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
GranTorinos 6   Bullitts 6 :
Schaefer: Gave up a lot of unlucky and easy/bad goals in addition to not finishing some scoring chances. Now we get a one month break.

DePaoli: The GT's came out flying and scored quick, but the Bullitts answered back just as fast. This would go on all game with the GT's holding the lead for most of the game and the Bullitts only able to tie it up a few times until the end, in a role reversal from the first match up when the GT's scored 2 late goals to get the tie, this time it would be the Bullitts scoring the 2 late goals for the tie. Even though it was 6-6, both goalies played well and made several top notch saves and it could've easily been 10-10.
Falcons 4   Thunderbolts 1 :
Tymczak: Blah, blah blah, blah, blah blah blah blah. So blahhhh. What happened early in the first period. "I'm doing this write up so i don't get fined!" Next question. What about late in the second when your 2.0 defenseman played like a 1.5 defenseman? "I'm doing this write up so i don't get fined!" Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We really have a great group of guys, i wish them nothing but the best for the holidays, and to all Fhler's! Even the new guy Zach!

Bordeau: Falcons face off against the T-Bolts to start the second go around. Falcons "as Drafted" for only the second time all season put together a strong defensive game and take it to the T-Bolts with 3 3rd period goals and a 4-1 Win!!
Strong goaltending from Bryan S keeps the T-Bolts at zero until 36 seconds left of the game when they earned a nice goal to break the shut-out. We will take the much needed 2 points to stay out of the basement.
Happy Holidays to all FHLer's and their families from the Falcons. See you all next year
Galaxies 2   Cobras 2 :
Akins: Galaxies manage tie against depleted Cobras roster.

Lots of subs on the ice for the Cobras, and both teams played with 9 once Mick hopped on for the Kai. Galaxies were looking to take advantage of the situation, and needed a win with everyone in their vicinity in the standings pulling out underdog victories earlier in the week.

The game was back and forth throughout, with both teams getting their chances, but the goaltending kept the score low. Cobras opened the scoring with :03 on the clock at the end of the first. But, wait, who got the second assist on that one? Scoresheet says 24 from 10 and "me." Next to the time of the goal, it says "LOL." This can only mean that Mr. FHL Scotty didn't get the clock started in time and that the clock should have been expired by then?!?! If that's the case, I just might have to change my vote this year . . . but probably not. Anyway, midway through the second, Jones sent a pass through the neutral zone to an open man at the blue line (and was surprised to realize that it was his d-partner Hall!), who shook off a defender and muscled one past Young Caldwell. Cobras went up again early in the 3rd. A couple minutes later, the Galaxies tied it up on a somewhat controversial play. Dancing Bear went headfirst over Caldwell and was shaken up, but the refs didn't blow the whistle. The Cobras tried to clear, but Bordeau picked it off and rifled it at the net, where Jones was all alone and tipped it surgically past Caldwell. FWIW, it all happened pretty fast and the Cobras never had possession once the refs realized Filar wasn't getting up right away - and he finished the game, but is most likely very sore today.

It was a good bounce back game for the Galaxies after last week's beatdown, and probably our most complete game. Wish we didn't have to take 4 weeks off now. Oh well. From myself and the Galaxies, to everyone in the FHL family, here's to a happy and healthy holiday season!! See y'all in 2020!!

Filar: Cobras ran short on guys and short on goals. 4 Cobras missed this evening's tilt and it showed on the ice. Thanks to Lefevre and Wypych for subbing as scheduled and Mick for getting ready early and giving us an extra skater.
Have a great break and we will see you all next year!
Diesels 5   Blackbirds 1 :
Kundinger: Last game of 2019 between two teams trying to end on a positive note. With the Blackbirds needing some W's to have a glimpse at a future playoff picture, the Diesels knew they couldn't overlook this game if they wanted to win. Period 1 was a nail-biter as both sides were looking to net that ever-important first goal. It would take just over 9 minutes until Big Joe squeezed one through Khaled to break the ice. That seemed to spark a fire for the Diesels as they started out the 2nd period with back to back goals early. Blackbirds showed a little life shortly after to make it a 2-goal game, but the Diesels answered right back and scored 2 more before the end of the period. 3rd period lacked any production and the Diesels end the night with a solid victory. Another stellar performance by Brandon and the rest of the team.

Good post-game celebration at the Oakwood with a few members of the Blackbirds.

Wishing everyone a blessed Christmas season and a happy New Year! See everyone in 2020!
